Abide in your own call

1 Corinthians  7:20 Let every man abide in the same calling wherein he was called.  7:21 Art thou called being a servant? care not for it: but if thou mayest be made free, use it rather.  7:22 For he that is called in the Lord, being a servant, is the Lord’s freeman: likewise also he that is called, being free, is Christ’s servant.  7:23 Ye are bought with a price; be not ye the servants of men.  7:24 Brethren, let every man, wherein he is called, therein abide with God.

In our journey of faith, we often encounter questions about our purpose, our roles, and our callings. Today’s passage from 1 Corinthians reminds us of the importance of abiding in the call God has placed on our lives. It invites us to trust in His wisdom and to find contentment and purpose in the unique paths He has set for each of us.

Apostle Paul urges  believers to remain in the situation they were in when they were called. This does not mean that we should never seek to improve our circumstances, but it emphasizes the importance of contentment.

Contentment is a profound trust in God’s plan for our lives. It means believing that God has placed us exactly where we need to be for His purposes.

Paul concludes by urging believers to remain in the situation they were in when God called them, as responsible to God. This call to abide is not about stagnation or resignation but about faithfulness and trust.

Each of us has a unique calling and purpose. God has placed us in our specific circumstances for a reason. Abiding in our call means embracing our roles with dedication, serving God wholeheartedly in whatever situation we find ourselves. It means seeking His guidance and trusting His timing, knowing that He can use us powerfully right where we are.

We must not envy others or their gift, whatever office God has placed us, it is for a purpose and God gives or places us in His will according to the measure of grace we can carry.

In any call he has called us unto, either small or great, we shall all give account and receive rewards accordingly.

In conclusion, Let us find contentment in God’s plan, recognizing our true freedom in Christ, and living with the knowledge that we were bought at a price.

May we remain faithful in our unique paths, trusting that God is at work in and through us, using our lives for His glory and purposes. Let us commit to serving Him with all our hearts, wherever He has placed us, and trusting that His plans for us are perfect and good.

God bless you.
