Nothing is impossible for God

Luke  1:37 For with God nothing shall be impossible.

These words were spoken by the angel Gabriel to Mary, reassuring her of the miraculous birth of Jesus. This message of divine possibility isn’t confined to the pages of the Bible; it cut across all  ages, reminding us of God’s omnipotence and unending grace.

To understand the real message, angel Gabriel visits Mary, a young virgin in Nazareth, and announces that she will conceive and bear a son, Jesus, who will be the Savior of the world.

Understandably, Mary is perplexed and questions how this can be since she is a virgin. Gabriel responds with the assurance that the Holy Spirit will come upon her and the power of the Most High will overshadow her. He concludes with, “For nothing will be impossible with God.”

it’s a testament to God’s unlimited power and willingness to intervene in human history for the fulfillment of His divine purpose.

The phrase “nothing will be impossible with God” sum up the very nature of God’s omnipotence. Throughout the Bible, we see numerous instances where God performs the impossible:

Creation: From nothing, God created the heavens and the earth (Genesis 1:1).

Deliverance: God parted the Red Sea to deliver the Israelites from Egyptian bondage (Exodus 14:21-22).

Provision:  God provided manna from heaven to sustain His people in the wilderness (Exodus 16:4).

Resurrection:  Most profoundly, God raised Jesus from the dead, conquering sin and death (Matthew 28:5-6).

Each of these events defies natural laws and human understanding, highlighting that God’s power transcends our limitations.

Believing that “nothing is impossible with God” transforms how we face life’s challenges:

In Our Personal Struggles: Whether we’re dealing with illness, financial hardship, broken relationships, or personal failures, this promise encourages us to trust in God’s power to bring healing, provision, and restoration. Our limitations do not limit God.

In Our Spiritual Growth:  When we feel stuck in sin or unable to grow spiritually, we can rely on God’s transformative power. The same God who raised Jesus from the dead can breathe new life into our hearts.

In Our Mission: As a church, we are called to make disciples of all nations. This mission can seem daunting, but knowing that nothing is impossible for God gives us the confidence to step out in faith, trusting Him to work through us.

The belief in God’s limitless power requires faith and surrender. Mary’s response to Gabriel was, “I am the Lord’s servant. May your word to me be fulfilled” (Luke 1:38). She didn’t fully understand how everything would unfold, but she trusted in God’s word and His ability to accomplish the impossible.

We too are called to this kind of faith—a faith that trusts God’s promises even when the path ahead is unclear. Surrendering to God means letting go of our fears, doubts, and need for control, and allowing Him to work through us in ways beyond our imagination.

In conclusion, Let this assurance shape our prayers, embolden our faith, and inspire our actions. May we, like Mary, respond with trust and surrender, believing that God can and will accomplish His purposes in and through us.

God bless you.
